COPYRIGHT NOTICE

The content, designs, information and images (including the logo, audio-visual, artwork, and photography) or other materials contained on this website are owned by or used with permission by the Office of the Children’s Commissioner (“OCC”).

You are welcome to copy, reproduce or republish material or information from this website without the express permission of OCC provided that:

  • you do not alter it;
  • the material is written by OCC, or by a named staff member of OCC;
  • you acknowledge OCC as the source of the material, with a reference to our website address (http://www.occ.org.nz); and,
  • except where you are reproducing or republishing the material for personal use, you let us know how and where you have used the material. 

However, the use of OCC’s corporate images (including the logo) may only be used with express permission of OCC.

This website also contains articles, presentations, cartoons and links to material created by people who are not staff members. Those people retain the copyright in that material. You should approach them directly for permission to reproduce or republish it.

All personal information that you give us via this website will be kept confidential as required under the Privacy Act 1993. OCC does not collect personal information on this site unless you volunteer it. We also do not collect identifiable information about you if you only browse our website.

 Use and disclosure:

  • We only use personal information that you provide to us through this site (e.g. through online forms or email requests) for the purposes you supplied it, for directly related purposes or for other reason permitted under the Privacy Act 1993.
  • We do not share personal information volunteered to us through this site with others unless this is necessary for the purpose for which it is provided (e.g. to seek an answer to a query or complaint from a person complained about) or required by law.
  • We may make information about submissions made to us in public consultation processes available publicly either by publishing the submissions or in response to requests under the Official Information Act 1982.
  • We may analyse non-identifiable web traffic data to improve our services.

Your rights and choices:

  • You may seek access to personal information held about you by OCC in accordance with your rights under the Privacy Act 1993. You have the right to ask to have information corrected or deleted. To protect your privacy, and that of others, we may ask you to verify your identity as part of actioning an access or correction request.
  • The Office of the Children’s Commissioner will hold information provided.
