Proposed Donation Guidelines

The Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ACART) has done a review of the regulations around use of donated eggs, sperm, embryos, and use of surrogacy in fertility treatment. A new set of guidelines for ethical review have been proposed. In the submission the Children's Commissioner expressed reservations about relinquishing the biological link policy. Ethical review should ensure people only use donations where it is absolutely needed.
