Case study: Transforming respite
Disability Support Services, Ministry of Health
The Ministry of Health developed a strategy to improve how families are supported to have a break (respite) from caring for a disabled family member.
The Ministry wanted to hear from children and young people who attend respite services (they make up around 70 per cent of disability respite service users). It adapted the OCC’s engagement tools to engage with the children and young people.
