Need Advice?
As Children’s Commissioner is my job to make sure that children’s and young people’s rights are recognised and supported, and that children and young people are treated with respect, dignity and fairness.
My Office provides referrals and advice when the rights and interests of children and young people may have been ignored, or when their welfare may have been at risk.
My Office is also able to make inquiries and report on any matter, including any law, practice or procedure that relates to the welfare of children (except where the matter is before any court or tribunal).
Most problems can be solved by direct contact between the people involved. There are lots of agencies and organisations that can help solve problems or answer questions about the rights, interests and welfare of children or young people. Below are links to areas in which you may have concerns. You can find information there about who can help you, and what you can do to help yourself.
The Families Commission have just created a website dedicated to parenting, please check out this site as it may have helpful information for you.
