The Children’s Commissioner speaks out on behalf of all children and young people to ensure their rights are respected and upheld.....

The Children’s Commissioner’s Act 2003 allows the Children’s Commissioner to make inquiries and report on any matter, including any law, practice or procedure that relates to the welfare of children (except where the matter is before any court or tribunal). It also allows the Children’s Commissioner to investigate and monitor the actions of the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services.

The Children’s Commissioner is an Independent Crown Entity and my Office promotes children’s and young people’s rights through advocacy, public awareness, consultation, research, monitoring and investigation.
